A Mouthful of Opera

Co-Opera will continue its long-running Mouthful of Opera program with a season of reduced performances of Mozart's The Magic Flute for schools' audiences in and near Adelaide in May/June 2008.

For over 12 years Co-Opera has presented reduced performances of popular musical works for the stage for students at Primary and Secondary level. For ease of convenience and affordability, these performances have been presented in school auditoriums and many state and private schools have hosted performances annually over this period.

Our Company is committed to this investment in future audience building and already there are several artists who have worked for Co-Opera whose first opera experience was through our Mouthful of Opera program at school.

The Mouthful of Opera series has been supported for many years by the Health Sponsorship program of the SA Government through Arts SA.

A few spaces still exist for performances in late May/June.

Through Playing Australia, the national performing arts touring program, the Federal Government provides assistance to companies, venues and presenters to make tours of high quality performing arts accessible to more Australians. This means giving professional groups the chance to play to new and diverse audiences, as well as touring high quality performing arts into regional and remote communities. Playing Australia gives all Australians, wherever they live, better access to the country's best performing arts.
